Explores the parallels between the dream world and our memories. Recently, I've found myself drawn to the featured photos on my iphone, noticing how these snapshots capture only fragments of moments, emphasizing the positive emotions tied to them. This selective recollection mirrors the nature of dreams, where upon waking, we strive to piece together fleeting, fragmented images and emotions.
A shared quality of memories and dreams is how they can be triggered by subtle cues—a familiar scent, a passing glance, a certain colour, or environment—evoking vivid recollections that feel almost tangible yet are often elusive. These featured photos act as catalysts for these emotions, much like how a dream can be sparked by these fleeting sensations.
In "Dreamscape," all the images are curated from my featured photos, representing the landscape of memory. To embody the dream world, I have integrated the figure of the Sleeping Endymion, an enduring symbol of eternal slumber and timelessness, akin to how our dreams and memories exist in a perpetual state, untouched by the passage of time.
The series employs a blend of collage and iPhone photographs to illustrate the fusion of reality and dreams. This interplay invites viewers to investigate the dance of these two worlds and decide for themselves what is real and what is conceived.
"Dreamscape" captures the essence of moments that linger in our consciousness, timeless and ethereal—a place where memories and dreams converge, blur, and shape our perception of reality.
